The Graces of Confirmation

Confirmation allows us to deepen our Baptismal promises. Through this sacrament, you are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, strengthening your faith life. The signs of confirmation are the laying on of hands on a person’s head, most often by a bishop, and the anointing with oil. Like Baptism, Confirmation is received only once.

When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit."

John 20:22

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven, there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.

Acts 2:1-4
